Abstract
The study examined the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on Bowen’s family systems theory in reducing family conflict and improving emotional adjustment among working mothers in Zarqa Governorate. The researcher developed a counseling program, a family conflict scale (33 items), and an emotional adjustment scale (19 items). Results showed statistically significant differences (α ≤ 0.05) between the experimental and control groups on post-test measures of family conflict (subscales and total score) and emotional adjustment, in favor of the experimental group. No significant differences were found between post-test and follow-up measures for the experimental group, indicating sustained improvement. These findings confirm the program’s effectiveness in reducing family conflict and enhancing emotional adjustment, with lasting impact beyond the intervention period.
