Abstract
The study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on social skills training in enhancing self-assertiveness and psychological resilience among a sample of domestically abused female students in Zarqa Governorate. To achieve the study’s objectives, the researcher designed a group counseling program based on social skills training. Additionally, a Domestic Violence Scale (24 items), Self-Assertiveness Scale (28 items), and Psychological Resilience Scale (22 items). The findings indicated statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the total score of the Self-Assertiveness Scale and across all dimensions of the Psychological Resilience Scale in the post-measurement phase, favoring the experimental group. Furthermore, no statistically significant differences were found at (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group in the post-measurement and follow-up phases on both the total Self-Assertiveness Scale and all dimensions of the Psychological Resilience Scale. This suggests that the improvements observed in the experimental group were maintained, confirming the sustained effectiveness of the counseling program two weeks after its implementation.
