Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the level of career future anxiety and self-satisfaction among students expected to graduate from Mutah University. On a sample of (570) male and female students expected to graduate, and to achieve the objectives of the study, two scales were developed, the first to measure career future anxiety, and the second to measure self-satisfaction, after their validity and reliability were confirmed. The results of the study indicated that the arithmetic averages of the career future anxiety scale were at an average level and that the arithmetic averages of the self-satisfaction scale came at an average level. The results also show weak direct correlation between the total score of the career future anxiety scale and the self-satisfaction scale, this result indicates that the career future anxiety of students expected to graduate from Mu’tah University is affected by their self-contentment. The greater their self-comfort, the less career future anxiety, meaning that there is an inverse relationship between these variables. In light of these results, the study concluded a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: The necessity of developing programs to guide graduate students before their graduation, guide them and introduce them to job opportunities and their potential, in order to reduce their exposure to cases of career future anxiety.
